Become a Church member

Have you been thinking about becoming a Church member? If so, then you are probably in one of three categories:

  1. You have been a member of another URC church, but not this one. In this case you need to find out how you transfer your membership. Contact Tracey our Minister, who will discuss the process with you.
  2. You have been a member of a church of another domination eg Methodist, Baptist or Church of England. In this case you need to find out what the differences are in our beliefs and practices. Contact Tracey our Minister, who will discuss the differences with you and tell you what happens next.
  3. You have not made a commitment to the Christian faith before or you have not been confirmed or baptised in your faith. In this case, contact Tracey our Minister, who will talk this through with you and let you know when the next confirmation class is running. In these classes you will learn and discuss, with other people, what it means to be a Christian and the fundamentals of Christian faith together with practices at our Church.

Jesus said that, 'his yoke was easy and his burden was light', so be reassured - there are not lots of rules and regulations with any of this.

Usually, once you have gone through the discussions or been to the classes and decided that this is the path for you, you will be invited to attend a morning service when new members are welcomed into the Church.

So, that's all there is to it!
